Ye Olde Englishe Towne - York

A quaint English town, certainly not to be missed out if you are travelling this way. Heaps of tourists walking about, if you are getting off the train, you can almost go with the flow (without directions from a map) and you will end up at the city centre. Besides York being a beautiful place from the pictures below, please beware that its FREEZING! (a good few degrees cooler than London, quoting for 1 December 2007)

1st Anniversary - Chef Dave

Arrived back in London on the Nov 18th, just in time for our first wedding anniversary. Was looking forward to the meal that was going to be prepared by Dave. It was his first time cooking a proper meal with one meat and one veg dish.... guess what he whipped up? Baked fish and vegetables! Less oil and less dishes to wash too!I was so pooped (after the long houred flight from Brisbane) that I dived into bed straight after dinner.

Back...

We are nicely settled into our 1 bedder at South Croydon - leafy suburb and less of the london crowd. We moved in on Sat 4pm, 13 October 2007. It was such a joy to have a place we can call home.

Thank God for enabling us to secure this unit because someone else had expressed interest in it just one step before us. They pulled out in the end and the agent rang us to say that we could have the place. We were overjoyed BUT confused at that stage because we had already placed a deposit at another property (very average) in our desperation (our temporary accomodation was due to end on the Friday 12 October). We decided to forego the deposit at the 2nd property and go with the 1st property. The 1st property was in much better condition and fully furnished too (leather sofa, dining, bed, wardrobes, kitchen utensils, plates, bowls, wine glasses..) and given that the owner had been living in it, the place was in good shape.

We were without a roof for friday 12 October, and checked into a hotel at Richmond hill for the night. Had a tough few days transporting our luggage by tube, train, bus and foot! But we are very glad its done and dusted.

Trafalgar Square

2nd October 2007 seemed like the longest night ever. Dave and I were on board QF 9 to London. What a turbulent flight! Nerve wrecking. But most of all, thank God we arrived safely at Heathrow airport, with our hired transport awaiting to pick us up. Arrived bright and early (7am plus) at our temporary accomodation at Hammersmith. Nice place - 4 floored terrace house, with 10 rooms, common backyard & kitchen.
